Stepfather arrested for raping a 13-year-old girl

Manaus – This Wednesday (8), a man whose identity has not been revealed, was arrested, suspected of raping his 13-year-old stepdaughter indoors, in the Monte das Oliveiras district. According to the police, he had already committed the crime for at least two months.
The man works as a motorcycle taxi driver and has a 9-month-old son with the victim’s mother. The abuses always took place in the family home when he was alone with the victim or at dawn. The teenage girl reported that she was woken up by the suspect while she was sleeping.
According to police chief Joyce Coelho, the latest abuse happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning, and the girl desperately decided to ask the school principal for help, who reported the case to the Specialized Police for the Protection of Children and Adolescents (Depca). .
“He reported that he had been abused by his mother’s partner for at least two months and that the most recent incident occurred that morning, almost at dawn,” explains Joyce.
The man was arrested, and the mother had to testify at the police station. She told the envoy that she did not know about the abuse, but that she had learned days before that the man had touched the victim.
“The mother confirmed that the teenager did not directly report the facts to her, but on another occasion on a previous date with her older sister, aged 16, she would comment on inappropriate touching by her stepfather. The mother said that she drew the attention of the stepfather, but that she did not know about the actual abuse,” reports the delegate.
The stepfather denies the facts and says he doesn’t know why the girl said that. The representative claims that the teenage girl was extremely traumatized and that she should therefore be heard again under the supervision of a psychologist.
It is also suspected that the girl was sexually abused by other relatives in addition to her stepfather, which is why other people must be invited to testify.
