MIAMI, Fla. – One of the fiercest rivalries in MMA reached its climax on March 23 of this year when UFC wrestlers Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington had an incident outside a Miami Beach restaurant. Footage of Masvidal’s arrest surfaced Thursday.

The Real World Police YouTube channel posted the footage.

Masvidal, 38, was arrested after the incident and taken to the police station for questioning.

The incident outside the restaurant came after Masvidal’s decision to lose to Covington at UFC 272. The loss extended Masvidal’s losing streak to three streaks, and sweltering heat spread through the streets of Miami where the two fighters rallied. live and practice

The footage shows Masvidal cooperating with the police, even joking a little with them. As part of the video, Masvidal said he had promised himself he would never get caught again, but “here we are.”

Masvidal’s previous trial date has been postponed several times. The UFC star has pleaded not guilty and is expected to appear in court in early 2023. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Feb. 15. And his trial is scheduled to begin Feb. 27 in Miami.

Masvidal has faced a number of crimes including criminal mischief and atrocious battery.
