SXSW – South by Southwest

It’s Women’s Week and I thought it was symbolic that I was traveling to SXSW for the first time as a mother to Eva, a smart little girl who is just over a year old. Amidst the natural anxiety of participating in an event of this magnitude, choosing the right classes and improving my English, I carry in my suitcase the anxiety of my daughter’s first separation.

I’m privileged, I have a partner and a network that allows me to be sure she’ll be okay during my absence, but none of that lessens the anxiety of experiencing this first intersection between mother and professional.

It is in this outpouring of feelings that I return to Austin from another place, a place that I have increasingly appropriated over the past few months: a woman, a professional, and now a mother. And I, who do not believe in coincidences, was very surprised by the number of conversations about the feeling that was overwhelming me at that moment: connection.

On my radar are panels about new ways of thinking about teams and inspired action in their management, about creating communities and how amazing initiatives like the children’s brand Hello Bello are, about the future of food and the urgency of psychotropic drugs (body and mind in harmony version 3.0), about broadening our horizons about sexuality and the way we relate to the new artificial intelligence.

And how can we not talk about the connection between so many WhatsApp groups of amazing women who will be at the event and who will meet in person for the first time. I can’t see the time.

As I write and count the days to embark on this roller coaster of feelings, I take the opportunity to leave my contact on instagram https://www.instagram.com/danibez1/ and on linkedin https://www.linkedin.com /in/daniele- bezerra -de-almeida-001b5321/ for all the mothers and professionals who are going through the same moment as me and need a warm heart or a tight hug… in the midst of so many moments of inspiration and nostalgia, I will surely need it.
