The blocked version of the Galaxy A53 in the US is getting a new software update

A few weeks ago, Samsung released the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for the Galaxy A53 5G in international markets. The update has also rolled out for the US carrier-locked version of the phone on some carrier networks. However, it is still not available on some networks. Today, these units are receiving a new software update, but you shouldn’t get your hopes up too high as it doesn’t bring Android 13 to the device.

Latest firmware update for Galaxy A53 5G-Version Unlocked comes with firmware A536USQS4AVL1🇧🇷 The update is rolling out in the US on Dish’s network and we expect it to be available on other carrier networks soon. It brings the December 2022 security patch that aims to fix around 100 security flaws and improve device security. It may also contain general bug fixes and stability improvements.

If you have a US carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A53 5G that hasn’t received Android 13 yet, check for the new update on your device by going to Settings » Software update and tapping Download & Install. You can also choose to download a new firmware file from our firmware database and update it manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A53 5G alongside the Galaxy A33 5G and Galaxy A73 5G earlier this year with Android 12 on board. All three phones came with the promise of four major Android OS updates and have already received the Android 13 update in most international markets. We expect all US versions of the Galaxy A53 5G to receive the Android 13 update in a few weeks.
