The crooks are still on form. He ordered a GeForce RTX 4090 card, got a truck kit

The GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card is a dream for many gamers and enthusiasts. It was the same for one Reddit user. Except instead of a card he got…a set of trucks.

The GeForce RTX 4090 card should have been great. He received several kilograms of metal

The situation was described by the user NuclearInnardsBeep, who recently bought a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 video card at the popular American store NewEgg. This would not be surprising if it were not for the contents of the package.

The package did not include a card. Instead, there are … two weights in the box. According to the customer’s account, the store not only refused to cooperate, but also blocked his account.

Scammers still in shape – this is a popular pattern for theft

The scheme of the fraud is very simple. Most likely, the card was purchased by another customer who stole it and then returned the “defective” product of a similar weight. The problem is that the store did not check the contents of the package and resold the goods to another customer.

The case is known to the owners of the store – according to the translations, some products were intended for return, disposal or recycling of e-waste and were accidentally resold as goods with open packaging. In February, the store issued a statement apologizing for the situation and announcing changes to the return verification procedure. As you can see, despite the introduced changes, there are still problems with the theft of goods (because this kind of practice cannot be called otherwise).

Similar problems have appeared in other large retail chains. We recently wrote about an interesting case where one of the customers of the Amazon store bought a GeForce RTX 3090 Ti card, but received sandpacks instead.
