The county’s sight loss charity, Devon in Sight is hosting a Sight Loss Technology event at Torrington Town and Community Hall which could help anyone with sight loss by allowing them to try out some of the new technology available to help with everyday life. – daily life.
Vision and Sound Technology will showcase a wide range of equipment to help anyone with vision loss, including the new OXSIGHT Onyx glasses for people with macular degeneration.
At a recent event in Exeter, a lady was amazed that using OXSIGHT glasses she was able to see a face much more clearly and describe someone across from her.
Judy Pride, head of development and operations for Devon in Sight, said: “The hair on the back of my neck stood up when I heard this lady tell me she saw I was wearing a necklace and I had a pearl ring on my finger. Then she went outside and saw a car and even a license plate at some distance.
“This lady was impressed and is now considering purchasing the glasses for herself.
