Wrobione is a Polish thriller with an international cast. There are a lot of famous names, the story is also quite intriguing, and we will find out soon whether it will turn into a good show.
Death, a lost 17th-century masterpiece, and intrigue
Piotr Adamczyk recently had his five minutes thanks to his role in the series Eye of the Falcon. However, it would not be unreasonable to say that it is his next five minutes, because it is still one of the most recognizable Polish actors. He absolutely does not complain about the lack of classes, and one of the latest projects in which he participated is the thriller Wrobiony.
He will play Dominik, an art history researcher from the University of Wrocław, who will travel to Italy to collect materials about the life of the painter Caravaggio. However, it will not be one of many similar expeditions, but it will be revealed on the spot that another lover of the artist’s work has died suddenly. Was it related to a valuable, lost painting? Is it worth continuing the search, because the Italian mafia is lurking around the corner, and it seems that both the police and the mysterious Sylvia are very (too) involved in the whole thing?
“Discovering more facts about the life of an extraordinary painter, we easily lose our orientation about what is true and what is false. The deeper we search, the more we wander. And what we believe changes meaning depending on the point of view we adopt. This is how the heroes of the film develop. The setting is a study of a man who seeks, uncovers a mystery, who is in an eternal criminal journey between light and shadow, similar to Caravaggio’s paintings.” – Piotr Smigasiewicz, director and author of the film’s script

Lots of famous names in the cast and crew
Wrobione is also presented as a Polish production with an international cast. In addition to Piotr Adamczyk, Daniel Olbrychski will appear in the film, and from abroad, among others, Alessandra Mastronardi (Specialist for Nothing, The Unbearable Burden of a Great Talent), Luca Calvani (In Love with Rome), Torsten Voges (The Big Lebowski) and Gedeon Burkhard (Inglourious Basterds).
Familiar names can also be found in the rest of the team, for example Arkadiusz Tomiak was responsible for the photography and Paweł Mykietyn composed the music. Both of them have two Eagles in their resumes – awards from the Polish Film Academy.
When is the premiere of the movie Wrobiony?
We are not talking about a production that has been particularly strongly promoted so far, maybe even some are hearing about it for the first time. We won’t have to wait long for the premiere, as those interested will have the opportunity to visit the cinema this summer. Wrobiony is scheduled to debut on August 19.
