The Giants solved LB’s problems, signing free agent Bobby Okereke
The New York Giants finally found a linebacker, agreeing to terms with former Indianapolis Colts LB Bobby Okereke. Okereke and the Giants agreed terms to a four-year, $40 million contract with a $22 million guarantee, According to Jordan Schultz of theScore.

Bobby Okerek was one of the main linebackers in the market before signing with the Giants. Okereke is coming off a career high in 2022, recording 151 combined tackles, six tackles for loss, and five passes defensed.
Okereke is a tackle dealer, totaling 283 combined tackles over the past two seasons. As a retired athletic running back, Okereke is a perfect fit scheme in the middle of Wink Martindale’s defense.
The Giants were desperate for additional player talent. The Big Blue surrendered to 144.2 rushing yards per game last season (27th in the NFL) while having one of the worst quarterbacks in the league.
Okereke Sports also give the Giants an upgrade in coverage. Although he surrendered 58 targets on 82 targets this season (70.7%), he only left one touchdown and 515 yards while also breaking up five passes. During his time with the Colts, Okereke tallied three interceptions and also recorded a two-point conversion on his highlight reel, making a field-length interception against the Jaguars in 2019.
