Amazonas – The government of Amazonas opened, this Friday (July 1), another unit of the Prato Cheio program in the interior of the state, this time in the municipality of Boca do Acre (1028 kilometers from Manaus). In the modality of a popular restaurant, the place will serve 400 meals a day, from Monday to Friday, from 11 am to 1 pm.
Administered by the State Secretariat for Social Assistance (Seas) and the Amazon Agency for Economic, Social and Environmental Development (Aadesam), the program serves people who are in extreme poverty, poverty and low income, as well as the unemployed, street people and people with with disabilities.
The housewife, Maria Luisa Costa, 25, celebrated the arrival of a popular restaurant in the municipality: “This restaurant here, which is open, has been a blessing for us because I, for example, have 6 children and I have a place to go to eat and see them happy like this are now invaluable,” he said.
Eronilde Fonseca, 62, took advantage of the arrival of Prato Chei to bring her grandchildren: “When I heard that one of these would arrive in the municipality, I said that I would bring them to eat other food, they got I was immediately delighted, then when it was today I brought them here and it was approved, very tasty food”, he pointed out.
Prato Cheio is divided into two different services: in popular restaurants, lunch is sold for a symbolic value of R$ 1, from Monday to Friday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In soup kitchens, soup is free, and each person served is entitled to 1 liter of food, in different flavors, from Monday to Saturday, also from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This is the 20th unit of the social program that has been opened in the interior of the country. The capital has 13 Prato Cheio units.
Popular restaurants were received in the municipalities of Manacapuru, Autazes, Itacoatiara, Tefé, Barreirinha, Parintins, Humaitá, Presidente Figueiredo, Manicoré, *Carauari* and Boca do Acre.
Rio Preto da Eva, Tabatinga, Maués, Iranduba, Borba, Careiro Castanho, Lábrea, São Gabriel da Cachoeira, Coari and Carauari received popular cuisine.
Seas, in partnership with the Amazonas State Development Agency (Afeam), delivered two checks in the amount of R$ 5 thousand to entrepreneurs covered by Crédito Rosa in the municipality.
Crédito Rosa is a promotional program intended for women entrepreneurs whose business was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Financing varies from R$ 500 to R$ 21 thousand, according to the credit analysis of the applicant.
