The Knicks see the best in Emmanuel Kwikli
New York Knicks sixth man Emmanuel Kwekley is quickly (pun intended) bouncing back from his horrible slump and playing absolutely stellar basketball over the past week.
His defensive skills have been relatively consistent throughout the season, but on the offensive side of the ball, the same can’t happen. However, over his last four matches he has played fantastic on the side of the ball, which has caused him some trouble this season.
Most notable in these last four games for Quickley are his field goal and three-point percentages. For most of the season, Quickley seemed to lack his trademark confident trigger-shooter—particularly from outside the arc—although Quickley himself maintained a composure.

Over these last four games Quickley has regained that confidence, unhesitatingly hitting the ball from wherever he pleases.
While it’s not an ideal season for Quickley, who has also seen his name pop up in trade rumors at various points this season, this latest stretch has shown he’s hugely capable of being an offensive threat at a consistent rate, which could turn him into a serious two-way juggernaut.
On the season, his real voting percentage was 54.2%, the lowest in his short three-year career. His three-point percentage (34.3%) and free throw percentage (84.9%) are both career lows. However, if he continues to play at the pace he’s been lately, the numbers will go up, the team will be successful, and he can save his season from being completely lost from a development standpoint.
Last Wednesday, Quickley was asked how he felt after hitting his offensive pace. His reply was a candid testament to his confident demeanor, which was remarkable for a young man of 23:
“The same thing I felt when I missed 10 threes in a row. It’s no different.”

And Kwikley will look to continue shooting when the Knicks take on the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night in Dallas.
