The new Android flagships will crush the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in the vivo X90 Pro+ competed against the Apple A16 of the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max in a GPU performance test under load. The result of this comparison test should please prospective buyers for Android flagships in 2023: Snapdragon smashes the competitor.

Since the debut of the Snapdragon 888 chip, maniacs who are into top Android phones have not had an easy life.

All because this processor, like its successor, has a lot of problems maintaining high performance for a long time, and they often overheat.

Things were saved somewhat by Snapdragon 888+ and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+, which turned out to be slightly better than the originals. The latter did particularly well in my OnePlus 10T tests.

The new lead suggests that the real change will be Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which will go to the best phones of 2023.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 smashed Apple A16

One of the Twitter users, and by the way a tester, hiding under the charming nickname Golden Reviewer (almost like a golden retriever), published a very interesting photo. It should interest every self-respecting ManiaK.

In the photo we see two phones: Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max with Apple A16 processor and vivo X90 Pro+ powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform. Both flagships passed the same benchmark Extreme stress test for wild animals.

This test examines how the GPU manages to maintain consistent performance over time. It also shows the highest and lowest score achieved by a given hand.

The result of that comparison made my jaw drop to the floor twice. When I first saw that the vivo X90 Pro+ can boast a performance stability of up to 90.2%. Apple’s competitor fares significantly worse at 70%.

The second time I took a closer look at the performance results of both GPUs. It turns out that Snapka’s worst score was better than Apple’s best graphics score.

It’s a real pogrom, probably on an unprecedented scale. This is a strong glimmer of hope for those looking to buy a flagship from 2023 onwards.

Just let the CPU stability and temperature tests pass, and you can prepare a few thousand zlotys for a new top-of-the-line smartphone 😉

Do you know, that…

… the Samsung Galaxy S23 should also receive the mobile platform Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in Poland and we already know the release date?

We have it! Here’s the release date of Samsung’s main flagship for Poles in years
