The new BOLSA FAMÍLIA already has a defined MARCH calendar; check out

The popular Bolsa Familia, the Federal Government’s social program created in 2003, returned this year to replace Auxílio Brasil. After several months of development, the initiative was formalized by the President of the Republic, Luis Inacio Lula da Silva (PT).

Thus, as of March, the beneficiaries of the program will already have new conditions, including additional amounts that will be paid to individual families. So far, Bolsa Família serves nearly 21 million families in vulnerable situations.

Who can receive Bolsa Família?

To participate in the program, citizens must have an active registration in the Unified Register (CadÚnico) and meet the following requirements:

  • Being in a situation of extreme poverty, monthly family income up to R$ 105.00 per person; or
  • Being in a situation of poverty (provided that they have among their members pregnant women or people under the age of 21) – the monthly family income for one person is between R$ 105.01 and R$ 210.00; or
  • Be among the members who live in the same household and are covered by the Continuing Care Benefit (BPC).

In addition, as a means of keeping families on benefit pay, it will be necessary to:

  • For children to update their vaccination card.
  • That pregnant women are under prenatal care.
  • School attendance for children and adolescents is 60% and 75%.

Additional Bolsa Família

“The plan will contain the obligation of the president to pay a minimum of R$600, plus an additional R$150 for each child, and it will also have a rule that will take into account the proportion per capita of each family, the amount so that: the people have more equity in the transfer of this income,” explained Wellington Dias, Minister of Development and Social Assistance.

“There is an increase in per capita value per child from age 7 to age 18. We agree on the price, which will amount to 150 rials for each child under the age of six,” the minister said in an interview.
