The new Xiaomi Mi Band 8 will surprise fans of the series
After 9 years of debuts of similarly constructed Xiaomi Mi Band sports bands, the new eighth generation will make a significant change in design. For the manufacturer, this situation is not new, but for customers it is great news.
Xiaomi Mi Band 8 is on the horizon
Xiaomi sports bands have been with us since 2014. Over the years, people have gotten used to every aspect of the device, from the pill shape, to the one-piece silicone band, to the reasonable price. It turns out that with this year’s iteration of the hardware will come some changes.
A device with the model name M2239B1 belonging to the Xiaomi Mi Band 8 has appeared on the certification site of the Korean agency NRRA. Regarding the specifications, we did not learn shocking details – from the tables it is only known that the equipment will receive a built-in lithium-ion battery with a voltage of 3.87 V, and communication with the smartphone will be carried out via Bluetooth version 5.1. Fortunately, pictures of the new Mi Band have also been published.
Goodbye monolithic bracelet
In addition to the photo showing the Xiaomi Mi Band 8 housing from below, there is also a photo on the Internet showing a special band for the device consisting of two parts. So it seems that the cult smart band of the Chinese manufacturer will become similar to other devices in the range with similar functions – Mi Banda 7 Pro, Redmi Watch 3 or the upcoming Redmi Watch 3 Lite.
Although the change seems trivial at first glance, it brings with it two changes. First of all, the ribbon will get more customization options. Since people wear socks in different colors and patterns, you can also wear one part of the headband white and the other black, etc. Then we are limited only by the number of color options and our own imagination.
Second, the two-piece straps are more convenient to remove from the body, whether it’s for the aesthetics mentioned above or to get rid of dirt from the nooks and crannies of the device.
Will the new Mi Band surprise with something else, we will probably find out in a few months, during the premiere of the device.
