MSI launches the next generation of budget gaming PC MAG META S. This equipment looks very impressive, but its bottleneck may be the graphics system – always solid, but a few years ago.
MSI MAG META S is a device built around a relatively small case, which however looks very impressive – including an LED strip on the front displaying the full RGB color palette.
Inside there will be a place for a very solid desktop processor from AMD – this is the Ryzen 5 5600X model, a six-core clocked up to 4.6 GHz. It was embedded on a motherboard with the A520 chipset.
The processor is backed by 16 GB of DDR4 RAM. As for the mounts, we get an M.2 2280 connector, along with a total of three slots for 2.5/3.5″ mounts.
As befits a computer with gaming features, on board this equipment we find a dedicated graphics system. However, it is a construction that lasts several years – We are talking about GeForce GTX 1660 Super, equipped with 6 GB of GDDR6 graphics memory. It’s still a solid GPU, but it can already be a bit lame in the fight against the latest graphically refined titles. The power supply with a capacity of 500W takes care of the energy management of the card and the entire computer.
However, we have a really solid set of ports at our disposal – the DVI-D output, HDMI 1.4, Ethernet connector, 2x PS/2, 2x USB 2.0, 4x USB 3.2 type A and three audio connectors. On the other hand, the absence of any USB Type-C port is surprising.
While the specs of this PC won’t bring you to your knees, the price is quite high. The equipment has already appeared in the offer of one of the British retail chains, where we have to pay 999 pounds for it which is about 5600 zlotys. It’s not a small sum, but inflation also applies to the PC industry.
