Time to cut the cord?

While wireless charging has been around for a long time, it really got a huge boost when Apple’s 2017 lineup of iPhones, including the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X, added wireless charging support. Since the launch of the new iPhones, many third-party accessory manufacturers have redoubled their efforts to produce wireless chargers. Of all these third-party accessory manufacturers, Belkin is one of the best, if not the best, company that makes wireless chargers. The Belkin F8M747bt Qi Wireless Charging Pad (£2,999) is the company’s entry-level wireless device. In this article, we’re going to take an in-depth look at whether it’s any good. So, without wasting any more time, here is the Belkin F8M747bt Qi Wireless Charging Pad review:

what’s in the box

Let’s start our review with what you get after your purchase. Then, the device is delivered in a very discreet box 🇧🇷 There’s nothing special about the packaging, which is understandable given that this is a Belkin staple. Here are the things included in the box:

  • Belkin wireless charger
  • USB-A to Micro USB cable
  • paperwork

specifications

There are only two specifications that are important when buying a wireless charger. The first is the charging technology supported by the charger, and the second is the charger’s output power, which determines how quickly your devices will charge with this charger. As a general rule of thumb, you should buy Qi wireless chargers as this is the default wireless charging technology supported by all wireless chargers. The other specifications are shown in the table below.

Last name belkin
model no F8M747bt
Weight 249g
product dimensions 4.3x13x16cm
supported standard Qi wireless charging
Price ¥2,999

Quality of design and construction

I am convinced that Belkin has done a good job with the F8M747bt Qi Wireless Charger. The top of the pad has a rounded square design with a Belkin logo and notification LED 🇧🇷 The surface of the charger has a matte finish, which is pleasant to the touch and prevents the phone from slipping even during a call. There is also a glowing circle in the center of the charger that outlines the charging area.

The bottom of the device tapers into a circle with a rubber-like finish to keep the charger from sliding on the surface you place it on. There’s a nice cutout that houses the micro USB port that powers the device. 🇧🇷 The charger is quite light and portable. Overall, I’m very happy with the design and build quality of the charger and have nothing to complain about.

loading and performance

The best thing about the Belkin F8M747bt Qi Wireless Charging Mat is that it supports 5W/1A outputs, which means your devices will charge relatively quickly. While it won’t be as fast as dedicated fast wireless chargers, it will be fast enough to make you want to use it every day. If you are looking for numbers you could I charge my iPhone X from 20% to 43% in 60 minutes 🇧🇷

Remember this You need a charging adapter with at least 5W/2A to run this charger at full capacity. 🇧🇷 If you use a charging pad that produces less power than the recommended range, your device will run slower than what we found in our tests.

intangible assets

For me, wireless chargers are one of the few products where the intangibles are as important as every other facet of the products. That’s because you don’t buy a wireless charger because you want the world’s fastest charging speeds, you buy it because you believe you can. When it comes to speed, wireless charging won’t surpass wireless charging any time soon.

If you are using a wireless charger, that means You use it for its ease of use and one less cable to worry about. 🇧🇷 I keep mine on my nightstand where I place my phone when I sleep and wake up to my phone fully charged. Thanks to wireless charging, I no longer have to deal with cables in the dark of night.

Belkin’s wireless charger makes all of that possible, but not all is well here as I hate some things. first come the wireless charger without charging stone 🇧🇷 This means you have to use your own charging pad to power the device, which is a hassle. Also, the notification LED on the device only lights up when you’re charging a smartphone, which confuses me when using the device for the first time.

Belkin Wireless Charger: It’s time to cut the chord

The Belkin Wireless Charger is a very good product that makes charging your devices wirelessly very easy. As the charger supports the Qi wireless charging standard, you can charge any smartphone that supports wireless charging. There’s nothing I don’t like about the device other than the fact that it doesn’t come with a charging pad in the box.

Pros:

  • Wirelessly charge your device
  • You don’t have to play with cables.
  • Works on all smartphones that support wireless charging

Disadvantages:

  • Do not leave the box with the charging stone
  • Notification LED only lights up when charging a smartphone
  • Not a fast wireless charger

Belkin Wireless Charger: Charging your smartphone just got easier

I love the Belkin Wireless Charger because it takes the hassle out of managing multiple cables for a reasonable price. Now I can charge my iPhone X and Galaxy S8 with a single charging station. If you have a smartphone that supports wireless charging, the Belkin F8M747bt is for you. But that’s just my opinion.
