We want to support the sector, we know the role of the sector in development

“We want to support the industry, we know the role of the industry in development,” Haddad announced in his speech at the closing of the event.

Finance Minister Fernando Haddad reiterated his commitment to support the reindustrialization of the country during an event organized by the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp) to celebrate Industry Day.

“We want to support industry, we know the role of industry in development,” Haddad declared, speaking at the closing of the event, which was also attended by President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva and Vice President Geraldo Alcmin.

Addressing the president of Fiesp, José Gómez da Silva, the minister pointed out that the program presented by the subject of industrial consolidation is also the government’s program.

Along the same lines, Alkmin said strengthening the sector is “fundamental” as the industry pays the best wages and adds value to the national product. The vice-president, who is also the Minister of Industry, pointed out to industrialists in São Paulo that the Law of Guarantees can reduce the cost of credit, thanking the President of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco, for appointing the project’s rapporteur.

Minister Fernando Haddad also made comments at Fiesp to easily approve the new fiscal framework in the Chamber. On Tuesday night’s vote, the Treasury chief applauded Mayor Arthur Lira for his “leadership” in approving the replacement spending cap rule. According to him, the fiscal framework guarantees 100% replacement of educational funds, which are directed to other purposes.

In another call for fiscal and monetary policy harmonization, Haddad also cited the “requirement” of his ministry and the Central Bank (CB) to go “hand in hand” for Brazil’s re-growth.
