When to expect the launch of the Huawei Mate 50 series?

For some time now, leaks have mentioned the slowly approaching premiere of the Huawei Mate 50 series. Now we’ve learned that we probably won’t have to wait long.

The Huawei Mate 50 series has been leaked again

Due to the sanctions imposed by the US, Huawei’s position has significantly decreased in the smartphone market, which somehow forced the company to seriously change the schedule for the release of its devices. Before that we had two flagship series – P and Mate – one at the beginning and the other at the end of the year. It is now decided to release them every year, consecutively. Due to the fact that the P50 devices debuted in 2021, we are now waiting for the Mate 50 series. This will debut soon, in September. Unfortunately, the exact date has not been announced.

According to new information, instead of the expected two models – Mate 50 and Mate 50 Pro – Huawei is preparing the Mate 50 RS. Although various renders revealing the appearance of these devices have been hitting the web for some time now, their specification still remains a big secret.

Even now, with the influx of more leaks, we’re only learning that all three smartphones should be powered by the latest Kirin 9000S chip (without the 5G modem) and will have an additional imaging chip called XMAGE on board. The Huawei Mate 50 series is also expected to get the recently announced HarmonyOS 3 system.

It’s also worth checking out some of the renders, as well as an actual photo (probably of the Pro model) and a photo of the screen protector. The renders again show us a large circular island of cameras with symmetrically placed sensors. In the picture we see a model with a curved screen. This is likely the Mate 50 Pro, which will get a notch instead of a selfie camera hole (confirmed by the display foil) to accommodate the face scanning feature.
