Yankees finally get Bolpin’s reinforcements as rookie returns from injury

The New York Yankees are quickly learning what life would be like without Michael King unless they make a move on the trade deadline. On Saturday against the Baltimore Orioles, coach Aaron Boone injected Shane Green into the game to help keep the two teams tied at three.

In Green’s first act of the season, he gave up one hit and two earned kicks, courtesy of Ramón Juriás Homer. The Yankees were unable to hold off Baltimore, despite team ace Gerrit Cole, at first.

However, Boone is expecting reinforcements on Sunday with relief pitcher Ron Marinaccio of Somerset revitalizing after his rehab appearance on Friday.

Per Yankees:

• He came back from rehab and brought Ron Marinaccio (#97) back from the injured list for 15 days.

• RHP Shane Greene has been appointed for appointment.

Marinaccio has been exceptional this season, scoring 2.33 ERAs over 19.1 innings. It hosts 10.71 strikes per nine rate, 77.3% remaining on base rate, and 40.5% globe rate. Despite the turbulent start of his rookie campaign, he He hasn’t given up on Homer this season.

In April, Marinaccio posted 11.25 pm, giving up five earned runs and six strokes over 4.0 innings. However, he has since gone 15.1 rounds without giving up a run and only one hit. He hit 17 hits in that time frame, and displayed great things.

The 27-year-old features 4-tier Fastball, a shift and a slider. Competing hitters hit only 0.136 against Fastball at an 18.8% WHIFF rate. However, changing it is by far his best offer, using it at 35%. Hitters hit 0.037 against his change with a 46.9% WHIFF and a 31.6% write-off.

With King suffering an injury at the end of the season, the Yankees will need the best version of Marinaccio going forward. He’ll need to be Clay Holmes’ primary setup man at the end of the games, along with Wandy Peralta. However, that doesn’t ignore the obvious fact that General Manager Brian Cashman needs to make a move to help his mission.
